This new video reveals the dramatic moment of the explosion that occurred in the Ana María de Sosúa sector, in Dominican Republic, and the rescue of a young girl from the rubble. The audiovisual material shows the scale of the incident that shocked society.

The images capture the exact moment of the rescue, where the victim is seen being removed from the rubble, dazed and with visible injuries. The young woman was immediately taken to the nearest health center.

A second video, recorded in a nearby building, captured the boom of the explosion and the panic it caused among passersby, who ran for cover. “Everyone is running”, the recording sounds.

Emergency teams remain on site carrying out assessment work. Preliminary investigations suggest the explosion may have been caused by a leak in an industrial fuel tank or a lightning strike during recent rains.
