A 65-year-old contractor was crushed to death by a road roller while working on a highway project on BR-060 in Terezópolis de Goiás, Brazil, on May 12, 2026.
The victim was identified as Adair Moreira, known to friends and relatives as "Dairão." The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. at kilometer 122+500 of BR-060, on the northbound side of the highway toward Anápolis.
Video of the workplace accident records the road roller running over Moreira at the worksite. He died at the scene.
Initial information provided by Brazil's Federal Highway Police, known as the PRF, indicated that another worker was operating the road roller and had not noticed Moreira's presence before the fatal accident.

Coverage published several days after the accident continued to describe the initial police account that the road roller operator had not noticed Moreira and that authorities were examining the circumstances of his death.
