Two foreign nationals die after falling at KLIA Terminal 2 in Malaysia.

NEWS:

Two foreign nationals died after separate falls from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 in Malaysia on May 1, 2026, in cases police said appeared to be unrelated.

The first case involved a 27-year-old woman from China. Police said the incident happened at about 00:2:20 p.m. at the Green Zone on Level 3 of KLIA Terminal 2. The second case involved a 30-year-old man from Algeria and occurred later that night, at about 00:9:10 p.m., in an outer balcony area on Level 3 of the same terminal.

Video from the first incident shows the woman outside a balcony area before the fall. Airport staff and security personnel are seen near her as an attempt is made to reach her. The footage confirms the fall from the balcony area, but it does not establish her full state of mind, the events before the recording began, or any final investigative conclusion.

Police said the woman had been seen crying and shouting before security personnel and airport staff tried to calm her down. A KLIA security officer attempted to approach her. According to the police account, she struggled and fell into the loading bay area below.

Emergency medical personnel treated her at the scene before she was taken to Putrajaya Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 00:5:09 p.m. Police said checks showed she had been scheduled to fly back to China on May 2.

The second fatal fall occurred hours later. Police said a witness saw the Algerian man open his backpack, run toward a barrier and go over it before falling from the outer balcony area. Medical staff provided emergency treatment at the scene, and the man was taken to Cyberjaya Hospital. His death was confirmed at 00:2:55 a.m. on May 2.

Police classified both cases as Sudden Death Reports. Authorities said the cause of each incident remained under investigation and asked the public not to speculate about the deaths or spread unverified claims.

The available record does not identify either person by name. No public material reviewed for this report showed a final coroner-style finding, toxicology result, airport safety report, or official conclusion beyond the sudden death classification.

The confirmed facts are limited to the dates, locations, ages, nationalities, medical response and deaths reported by police. The woman from China died after the afternoon fall from Level 3 at KLIA Terminal 2. The Algerian man died after a separate night fall from Level 3 at the same terminal. Police said the two cases were separate and remained under investigation.
