Man shot dead as attackers take his car and revolver in rural Venturosa, Brazil.

NEWS:

A 49-year-old man was shot dead in Sítio Amarelo, a rural area of Venturosa in Pernambuco state, northeastern Brazil, on the morning of April 23, 2026.

The victim was identified as Erivaldo Félix de Oliveira. He was struck by multiple gunshots and died at the scene.

Video footage connected to the case records the fatal attack and confirms that Erivaldo was repeatedly shot. The recording establishes the violent act itself, but it does not provide a verified motive, conclusively identify the attackers or establish what happened before the shooting began.

Preliminary information indicated that the assailants left the area with Erivaldo’s vehicle and a revolver that belonged to him. No publicly available police statement located by June 9 confirmed whether the vehicle or firearm had been recovered.

Police officers went to the rural property and secured the area for the forensic examination. Investigators collected the evidence available at the scene before the victim’s body was removed.

Erivaldo’s body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute in Caruaru for examination.

Initial information described the people responsible as multiple suspects, but no names, physical descriptions or identifying details were publicly released. The available record also did not establish what vehicle, route or method they used to leave the area after taking the victim’s property.

The removal of Erivaldo’s car and revolver created a possible robbery-related element in the investigation. Some early coverage labeled the case a robbery-homicide, known under Brazilian law as latrocínio.

That classification was not supported by a publicly accessible police report or investigative conclusion. The same information said the motive remained unknown. It is therefore not possible to state as an established fact that Erivaldo was killed for the purpose of stealing his property.

The confirmed sequence is limited. Erivaldo was shot multiple times at Sítio Amarelo, the video records the attack, he died at the location, and preliminary information indicated that his vehicle and revolver were taken afterward.

The public information does not establish whether the shooting was planned, whether Erivaldo knew the attackers, whether the property was the original objective or whether the vehicle and firearm were taken to assist the escape.

No public update located as of June 9 announced an arrest, identified a suspect, disclosed a suspected motive or reported that investigators had recovered either of the missing items.

No publicly accessible autopsy report, ballistic examination, crime-scene report or court filing was located. The exact number of gunshot wounds, the type of firearm used in the killing and the final legal classification therefore remain unavailable in the public record.

The investigation was assigned to the Civil Police station responsible for Venturosa. The available information did not disclose whether investigators obtained additional surveillance footage, witness statements, fingerprints, vehicle-tracking information or other evidence capable of identifying the attackers.
