Gunman kills two workers at point-blank range outside bar in Diadema, Brazil.

NEWS:

A helmeted gunman shot and killed two workers at point-blank range outside a bar in Diadema, in the São Paulo metropolitan area of Brazil, on the night of April 26, 2026.

The victims were later identified as Maycon Muniz Xavier da Conceição, 30, and Marcos da Conceição, 45. Both died at the scene on Avenida Lico Maia, in the Serraria area.

Security camera footage records the killings. The video shows the two men standing near the entrance of a business when a man wearing a motorcycle helmet approaches them on foot.

The gunman moves directly toward the victims, raises a handgun and opens fire at close range. One man collapses as the shooter turns toward the second victim and continues firing. Both men fall to the ground.

The victims do not appear to be armed or physically attacking the gunman during the sequence visible in the recording. The shooter gives them no visible opportunity to escape or defend themselves.

After firing, the man leaves the camera’s immediate field of view. Investigators said two suspects were using a silver Honda PCX motorcycle, indicating that another person may have been waiting as the driver while the gunman carried out the shooting.

Police officers were dispatched to the location after receiving reports of gunfire. Emergency medical personnel examined Maycon and Marcos and pronounced both men dead at the scene.

Crime scene investigators processed the area, and the bodies were removed for examination by the medical examiner’s office. No complete autopsy report, number of gunshot wounds or ballistic findings had been publicly released by June 12.

Later accounts identified Maycon and Marcos as coworkers. Marcos worked as a welder and had lived in São Paulo state for approximately 26 years, according to information provided by his relatives.

Marcos was originally from Coelho Neto, in the northeastern state of Maranhão, and was known as Marcão. He reportedly lived in employee housing near the area where the shooting occurred.

His remains were returned to Coelho Neto, where a wake was arranged at his family’s home. His burial was scheduled for April 30. He left a wife and a 16-year-old daughter.

Maycon was identified in later reporting as a 30-year-old worker originally from Rio de Janeiro. Publicly available information did not provide comparable details about his family, burial or length of employment.

The possible motive described after the killings involved an earlier argument at a different bar. According to witness accounts relayed during the initial investigation, Marcos complained that a beer served at the establishment was warm.

Another man reportedly entered the disagreement and defended the woman operating the bar. The exchange remained verbal at that location, according to the account published after the crime.

Maycon and Marcos then left and went to another bar nearby. The other man reportedly took a woman home before returning to the area on a motorcycle.

Witness-based reporting said the man traveled through the neighborhood looking for the two workers and waited for approximately 20 minutes while wearing his helmet. He allegedly attacked them after locating them outside the second establishment.

The security video confirms the deliberate close-range shooting but does not show the reported argument over the beer, the alleged search for the victims or what the gunman did before approaching them. Those details depend on witness statements and investigative reporting and had not been established through a publicly released police conclusion.

The footage also does not establish the gunman’s identity or prove that the man involved in the earlier argument was the shooter. Linking the dispute to the double homicide remains an investigative theory based on the reported chronology and witness accounts.

One later report said Marcos was struck in the head. The initial television headline described shots to the victims’ faces. No public forensic report was located confirming the precise wound locations or trajectories for both victims.

The first official account stated that witnesses described two men on a motorcycle firing at the victims. Later examination of the surveillance footage established that one helmeted man approached on foot and fired, while investigators reportedly connected two suspects to a silver motorcycle.

The available reports also disagree about which police station formally handled the case. The statement attributed to the São Paulo Public Security Department said the homicide was registered at Diadema’s 3rd Police District. A subsequent report said the investigation was assigned to the 4th Police District.

The initial coverage stated that homicide investigators had identified a suspect through security camera footage. The publicly reproduced police statement, however, said officers were still conducting investigative work to identify those involved and establish the circumstances.

No suspect’s name was publicly confirmed in the reliable material reviewed for this report. No arrest, surrender, warrant, formal criminal charge or prosecutorial decision had been announced by June 12, 2026.
