(Ca Mau – Vietnam) A 37-year-old man, summoned to Phu Tan District People’s Court to resolve a divorce case, used a knife to stab his wife and then committed suicide on the way home.

According to the initial investigation, at about 10 a.m. on January 17, the man and his 37-year-old wife were riding on two motorbikes leaving Phu Tan District People’s Court. When they approached Tan Phu Thanh village, Tan Hung Tay commune, the man suddenly pulled out a knife and attacked his wife, although people around tried to intervene.

After the victim collapsed on the side of the road, the man committed suicide.

A local official in Tan Hung Tay commune confirmed that the perpetrator had died and the victim was being treated for his injuries. This couple has two children.

Ca Mau Provincial Police are coordinating with local authorities to investigate the case.
