Military police officer kills app motorcyclist by shooting in the middle of the street in Brazil, for not wanting to pay, and is later lynched.

An app motorcyclist was murdered by a military police officer at the end of a race, this Sunday (1st), in Camaragibe, Greater Recife. The police officer, identified as Venilson Cândido da Silva, 50 years old, allegedly refused to pay the amount of R$7 for the ride, which led to a conflict with the motorcyclist. Thiago Fernandes da Silva, 23, died at the scene.
Images from a security camera show the moment of the crime. In the record, it is possible to see the PM shooting the victim in the middle of the argument. Minutes after the shooting, Venislson tried to flee, but was located on a nearby bus.
The agent was beaten by members of the public, who used motorcycle helmets for the attack, until he was rescued by the Military Police. The Secretariat of Social Defense (SDS) reported that the PM was taken to a hospital, but did not specify the unit, nor the criminal’s health status.
The case is investigated by the 10th Homicide Police Station of Pernambuco. The local Military Police (PMPE) initiated an internal administrative process, which could result in the expulsion of the police officer from the corporation.
