In northern Potosí, police learned of the theft and located the vehicle, “inside which were three people, who are presumed to be the perpetrators of the robbery,” Sánchez told the media.
The men were arrested and taken to the Pocoata police station, awaiting the corresponding procedures by the Prosecutor's Office and the “jurisdictional authority,” he indicated.
But at approximately 00:11:30 p.m. on Thursday, more than 100 people violently stormed the police station, breaking down the doors and dragging the three detainees out.
The men were first taken by the mob to the town's main square, where it was decided to apply what was supposedly called “community justice” to them. They were then taken “to the cemetery, set on fire, and burned alive,” he added.
