An unidentified man died after becoming trapped in a window while trying to enter an evangelical church in Tramandaí, a coastal city in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The case happened during the early hours of Thursday, April 9, and the man was found in the morning stuck at a window of the Igreja Quadrangular, located on Avenida Fernandes Bastos in the Recanto da Lagoa neighborhood. Police said the suspected reason for the attempted entry was theft, but the man’s identity and age had not been released.
The video from the scene shows the man trapped in the window opening of the church. The footage directly confirms the central fact of the incident: he was stuck in the structure and unable to free himself before authorities arrived. The video does not establish his identity, medical cause of death, criminal history, or whether anything was taken from the church.
According to police information reported from the scene, only part of the man’s body made it through the window. He became lodged in the opening and was later found dead. The church area where the man tried to enter was described by the pastor, Gislaine Gonçalves da Silva, as a room used to store materials for the church’s children’s space. Local reporting from the scene said a worker arriving for a nearby job saw the man at the window and alerted the church leadership. Police then secured the area, and emergency and investigative teams were called. The Brigada Militar, Civil Police and the Instituto-Geral de Perícias were reported at the scene.
