Man stabbed to death while playing video games in Tondo computer shop, Philippines.

NEWS:

A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death inside a computer shop in Tondo, Manila, while he was playing video games on Monday morning, according to information attributed to a police report.

The victim was identified as Jhon Jhon Bacolod. A later local report gave his fuller name as Jhon Jhon Bacolod y Saturnino. He suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, where he died. Public accounts differ on whether he died while receiving treatment or was pronounced dead on arrival.

The attack happened at about 11 a.m. inside a computer shop at the GK Compound in Barangay 105, Tondo. The case was handled by the Manila Police District’s Raxabago Police Station 1, according to the initial report.

The video of the incident shows the victim seated at a computer before the attackers move in and stab him. The footage directly confirms the assault inside the computer shop. It does not establish the motive, any prior confrontation, or the full relationship between the victim and the attackers.

Police identified the suspects as Jeffrey Saludar, 49, and Jefferson Baccay, 25. Both were reported as residents of Rosal Street in Happyland, Tondo. A later report listed their fuller names as Jeffrey Saludar y Baccay and Jefferson Baccay y Salud.

According to a witness account cited in the police report, Bacolod was focused on playing computer games when the two suspects arrived, pulled out knives and stabbed him repeatedly in different parts of the body. The attackers then left the scene with the weapons.

A later report said the victim’s sister, identified as Renalyn Bacolod y Lozada, witnessed the stabbing and gave the suspects’ identities to police. That detail appeared in later coverage and should be attributed to that report unless confirmed directly by an official public release.

The suspects fled after the stabbing and remained at large in the available reports. No public update was found confirming their arrest, surrender, charging, or court appearance.

The motive was not established in the available information. The initial report said authorities were investigating what led to the attack. A later report quoted witnesses saying the stabbing appeared to happen without an apparent reason, but that does not amount to an official finding on motive.

The case was referred to police investigators, with a later report naming PMSg Jay J. Valenzuela in connection with follow-up efforts and PMSg Roderick Magpale of the MPD Homicide Section as having taken cognizance of the case.

No publicly accessible official document was found confirming a final motive, the recovery of the knives, the medical findings, or any formal criminal complaint filed against the two named suspects.
