Man accused of attacking mother and neighbor before Taser arrest in Georgia, United States.

NEWS:

A Georgia man was arrested after police said he attacked his mother, pulled out part of a neighbor’s hair and took the neighbor’s phone to stop a 911 call.

The incident happened on March 15, 2026, in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Police identified the man as 31-year-old Kehma Johnson.

Surveillance video shows a shirtless man throwing a woman to the ground outside a home. In the footage, he identifies the woman as his mother and tells neighbors she has dementia while she is lying in the driveway.

Police said officers were called to the home after reports that a man had pushed his mother and pulled another person’s hair. A neighbor told police that Johnson had pulled out some of her hair. The police account also said he took her phone so she could not call 911.

Bodycam footage shows Officer R. Carrillo-Julian arriving and making contact with Johnson. During the exchange, Johnson tells the officer he had just smoked marijuana. In another part of the footage, when the officer asks why he is acting strangely, Johnson says he is acting that way because he just smoked weed and is still high.

The video shows Johnson behaving erratically during the police encounter. He makes odd statements, sings “calm” repeatedly and moves toward the officer after being told to stay back.

The officer draws a Taser as Johnson continues approaching. Johnson then charges toward the officer, and the officer deploys the Taser. The footage shows the officer bringing Johnson under control on the ground and holding him until other officers arrive.

Police said Johnson continued fighting officers after backup arrived and during transport to the jail. Video from the arrest shows officers forcing him into the back of a patrol vehicle while he screams and resists.

Johnson was charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, battery, obstructing or hindering a person making an emergency telephone call and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers by use of threats or violence.

The charges are accusations. No public court record was found showing a conviction or final ruling in the case.

The available footage directly shows the attack on the woman identified as Johnson’s mother, the confrontation with the responding officer, the Taser deployment and the struggle during arrest. The footage does not prove Johnson’s full mental state, medical condition or whether marijuana alone caused his behavior.

Police and local reports said Johnson referred to smoking marijuana during the encounter. No public toxicology result, medical evaluation or court finding was found confirming whether any other substance, condition or factor was involved.

The neighbor’s account that Johnson pulled out some of her hair was reported by police and local media. The available reporting did not include the neighbor’s full name, the mother’s name or a detailed medical update on either woman.

No later verified update was found confirming whether Johnson posted bond, entered a plea, faced additional charges or appeared for a preliminary hearing.
