Motorcyclist killed after falling under dump truck in Bogotá, Colombia.
NEWS:
A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic crash involving a dump truck and a tractor-trailer in Ciudad Bolívar, Bogotá, Colombia.
The fatal crash happened on Friday, April 24, 2026, at about 00:4:00 p.m. near the entrance to the San Francisco neighborhood, on Avenida Boyacá with Diagonal 62 Sur, in the north-south direction.
The crash involved a motorcycle, a dump truck and a tractor-trailer. Traffic authorities reported a fatal road incident at the same location and sent transit units and criminalistics personnel to the scene.
The motorcyclist was riding a black and purple Bajaj Pulsar NS200, according to local reporting from the scene. The rider was described as wearing a black jacket, light jeans and black shoes. His identity was not publicly confirmed in the available official mobility updates.
Video from a security camera shows the motorcycle moving through the area near the heavy vehicles. The footage shows the rider losing balance and falling toward the wheels of the dump truck. The video confirms the fall and the truck's involvement in the fatal impact.
The footage does not establish the motorcyclist's speed, the speed of either heavy vehicle, the full position of the tractor-trailer before the crash or whether any driver committed a traffic violation. It also does not show the complete approach to the impact from every angle.
After the collision, the motorcycle came to rest ahead of where the rider's body was later seen. Local reporting said the body was several meters behind the motorcycle and the other vehicles involved.
People in the area called emergency line 123 after the crash. Prehospital care personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed that the motorcyclist had died from the severity of the impact.
Criminalistics units reached the location later in the afternoon to carry out the body recovery and scene documentation. Traffic police managed vehicle flow as the road was reduced and then closed while the work continued.
The official mobility update recommended Avenida Caracas as an alternate route while authorities handled the crash. Later, authorities said the criminalistics work had ended and traffic on Avenida Boyacá had been reopened.
Avenida Boyacá is one of Bogotá's main north-south corridors and carries mixed traffic, including motorcycles, buses, private vehicles and heavy cargo vehicles. The crash occurred in a sector of Ciudad Bolívar where traffic disruption quickly affects surrounding routes.
The same day, another fatal motorcycle crash was reported earlier in Bogotá on Avenida El Dorado with Carrera 85D, in the east-west direction. That separate incident involved another motorcyclist and was reported hours before the Ciudad Bolívar crash.
No final crash reconstruction was found in publicly available records. No official update was located identifying the motorcyclist, naming the other drivers, announcing citations or assigning legal responsibility for the crash.
