Worker stabbed to death after loud music dispute on bus in Tay Ninh, Vietnam.

NEWS:

A worker was stabbed to death near Phuoc Dong Industrial Park in Tay Ninh, Vietnam, after a dispute over loud phone music on a shuttle bus carrying workers to the industrial zone.

The killing happened on April 21, 2026, near the main gate area of Phuoc Dong Industrial Park in Gia Loc ward. Later accounts based on police information placed the attack at about 00:6:20 p.m. Earlier reporting put the incident closer to 7 p.m.

The victim was identified by the initials N.T.L., born in 1989, from Long Thuan, Tay Ninh province. He worked at a company in the industrial park. Reports described the two detained suspects as Tran Hoang Thong, born in 1986, from Ben Cau, and Pham Hong Hai, born in 2000, from Long Thuan.

Video from the scene shows the bus stopping and workers getting off. A male worker in a yellow shirt is attacked after leaving the vehicle. Other workers move toward the confrontation and try to intervene. The footage shows two men continuing the assault with a bladed weapon before leaving the scene.

Police said the victim, Thong and Hai had been riding together on a worker shuttle bus traveling from the Ben Cau area toward Phuoc Dong Industrial Park. During the ride, the victim played music loudly on his phone. Thong told him to lower it, and an argument followed.

When the bus reached the area near the workplace, the dispute continued after the workers got off. Police said Thong and Hai attacked the victim, using knives and leaving him fatally wounded. The victim died at the scene after suffering severe blood loss.

After the stabbing, the two suspects left the area. They later went to police and surrendered. Authorities detained both men for investigation into murder.

Police from Gia Loc and the provincial criminal police unit examined the scene, conducted a postmortem procedure and collected witness statements. The provincial prosecutor’s office was also involved in the investigative steps described in later reports.

Relatives described the victim as the main provider for his family. Family members said he had a wife and a young child. A relative said the victim usually focused on work and caring for his family, and that the family had initially been told the dispute involved a co-worker.

The public reports reviewed did not describe any prior relationship between the suspects and the victim beyond their work connection and the shared shuttle ride. No public court judgment was found in the material reviewed.
