A security guard was killed and two other people were injured after a speeding car slammed into multiple vehicles near Nandipadu junction in Miryalaguda, in India’s Telangana state.
The crash happened on the Narketpally-Addanki road in Nalgonda district. Police said the car was traveling from Guntur toward Hyderabad when it lost control and hit a motorcycle ridden by Megavath Mangtha, 46, who was crossing the road at the time.
Published footage from the scene shows the car rushing into the area at high speed and striking the motorcycle before continuing forward. The vehicle then hits additional roadside vehicles and a tractor before coming to a stop. People standing near the tractor are seen being thrown by the force of the impact.
Mangtha, a native of Maisammakunta Thanda and a security guard at a private bank in Miryalaguda, died after the crash. His body was sent to the hospital mortuary for autopsy, according to police information cited in local reports.
The injured were identified as Dhanavath Bhasker, from Kuriya Thanda, and K. Sunny, from Miryalaguda. They were taken to an area hospital in Miryalaguda. A later report said both were out of danger.
The crash damaged several vehicles in the area. Police said the car first hit Mangtha’s motorcycle, then crashed into two parked motorcycles and a tractor on the state highway.
Some reports said the occupants of the car fled after the vehicle came to a stop, leaving the car behind. That detail has been reported by local media, but no official public statement naming the occupants or confirming any arrests was found.
After the fatal crash, Mangtha’s relatives, villagers and local residents blocked the Narketpally-Addanki road and demanded action. The road blockade disrupted traffic for several hours, and police diverted vehicles through alternate routes while officers handled the scene.
Police registered a case based on a complaint from the victim’s family. Reports attributed the investigation to Miryalaguda Two Town police, but no publicly accessible official case document was found during review.
