Bodycam video shows fatal shooting of woman with meat cleaver.

A woman suspected of arson was shot and killed when Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies serving a search warrant at a home in the San Gabriel Valley opened fire Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred in the 8700 block of Scott Street in Rosemead around 00:12:30 p.m.

“Detectives responded to the location of a barricaded arson suspect,” the Sheriff’s Department said. “A search warrant was served, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred.”

The victim, identified only as an adult female, was struck by gunfire and taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting involving officers of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in Rosemead on Feb. 27, 2025. (KTLA) No additional details about the suspect or the arson incident she was suspected of committing have been shared.

No officers were injured in the incident, the Sheriff’s Department said.
