A woman has died after being beaten to death with a hammer at D & D Convenience store at 3500 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard in Fort Myers, Florida, United States.
Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 00:7:14 AM Thursday morning, April 2nd, 2026.
The woman sustained significant traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the front of the store at 00:7:27 AM.
The man has reportedly been identified by police and unconfirmed reports indicate that he may also wanted in connection with an unsolved homicide that occurred several months ago on Hough St.
CCTV video from the scene shows the man wearing a yellow shirt, black shorts, orange sneakers and a white backpack. Officers say he fled northbound following the incident.
Suspect has not been located.
The Fort Myers Police department is investigating.
