According to information, the police in Athens, Greece, protected Israeli tourists this past Tuesday, May 7, 2024, after pro-Hamas protesters made up of Muslim migrants and alleged far-left extremists tried to invade the hotel where the tourists were staying hosted.

Greece has witnessed several pro-Palestinian protests since the start of the October 7, 2023 war between Israel and Hamas, including a protest march that saw 10,000 participants walk together to the Israeli embassy in October of the same year. Pro-Hamas protests also broke out in other countries, including on college campuses in the United States.

Police officers were sent Tuesday to the hotel to disperse the violent crowd, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs, and officers allegedly used unknown crowd control devices to control the crowd.
