The accident occurred on Zilmar’s property, located in São Valentim, while he was slaughtering a pig, a common activity in rural routine.
During the process, which he carried out in the company of his father, Zilmar was suspending the animal when, in an unfortunate accident, he dropped the knife he was using.
The knife fell and hit his groin, seriously injuring his femoral vein. The injury caused intense and rapid blood loss, preventing aid from being effective in time to save his life.
